Funds
The funds sector was first established in the island circa 1960. and is now valued at over £200 billion. Jersey has become a test bed for innovative funds and the island was one of the first centres in Europe to establish the umbrella fund concept. The industry is now recognised by its funds for institutional, specialist and expert investors. The introduction of the Expert Fund Guide in 2004, which streamlined the approval process for many specialist funds, enabled the Island to compete effectively for hedge fund, private equity and other specialist funds business.
