AO Hall Fraud Conference speakers announced
Highly-respected Royal Court Judge Russell Finch will be the keynote speaker at the third AO Hall Fraud Conference in October.
Judge Finch will be joined by speakers from Guernsey, London and New York at the biennial event, which is held in conjunction with GTA University Centre.
‘We are delighted that Judge Finch has agreed to be our keynote speaker. He has extensive experience of the judicial system in both Guernsey and the UK and I am sure he will provide a fascinating and thought-provoking insight into the important role of the Royal Court in fighting fraud,’ said AO Hall partner Alison Ozanne.
‘Judge Finch will be joined by nine London and New York-based fraud specialists who have developed enviable reputations for their knowledge and expertise in their specialised areas. We are delighted that they have given their time to share their views and experiences with us. They will be joined by Louise Hall and Jon Barclay from AO Hall who will be providing the Guernsey prospective.’
The conference, which takes place on 1st October, will include speakers from Baker & MacKenzie LLP, Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP, McGrigors, Smith & Williamson, Peters & Peters and XXIV Old Buildings. Fraud related topics being covered include employee fraud, extradition, developments in enforcement techniques and the USA Court’s approach post-Madoff.
‘We have an extremely interesting and lively programme which will cover all aspects of fraud. The previous two conferences have attracted company directors, senior management, compliance officers and HR managers and I have no doubt that the level of interest will be higher than ever this year. Based on the success of the 2006 and 2008 seminars, we already had spaces booked even before we were able to announce the details of what are exceptional speakers,’ said GTA University deputy chief executive Fiona Naftel.
The conference will be preceded by a dinner on 30th September 2010, which will also be a celebration of AO Hall’s fifth birthday. Crimewatch presenter Nick Ross has been secured as the speaker.
More information about the seminar is available from Sarah Elliott at the GTA University Centre on 721555 or by emailing sarah.elliott@gta.gg
