Condor Vitesse engine fixed
Condor Ferries’ engineers have repaired the pistons on Condor Vitesse following a failure of the lube oil system and she has now resumed operations on all four engines. Later today Condor Vitesse will travel North from St Malo, returning to Poole to serve the routes between the UK and Channel Islands.
Last week Condor Vitesse swapped schedules with Condor Rapide and operated between the Channel Islands and France. By reversing the earlier ship swap, Condor Ferries will maximise capacity for passengers and their vehicles between the Channel Islands and UK as well as minimise disruption to our route network.
Simon Edsall, Managing Director of Condor Ferries, said,
“We are pleased that Condor Vitesse is now fixed and can return to its usual operating route. The problems with one engine on Condor Vitesse came at the busiest time of year for us and I would like to apologise to any customers who were affected. Nevertheless, I’m confident that our fleet of three 86m fast ferries has helped us maintain the lifeline links to the Channel Islands more effectively than would otherwise have been possible.“
