ERNST & YOUNG will be holding a repeat seminar on the ‘Future of Guernsey’s Corporate Tax’ following a huge response from business professionals in the island.

The joint Ernst & Young and Chamber of Commerce breakfast seminar held on Thursday 5 August saw all 100 places taken within the first day of invites going out.

Due to the high level of interest from local businesses, the firm is providing another opportunity to find out more about the public consultation document and the current system of Zero 10.

Led by Ernst & Young’s Tax Partner, Graham Parrott, the second breakfast seminar will be held this Wednesday at St James from 8am until 9.30am and has had to be moved from the Dorey room to the Whittaker Hall due to the high demand.

“This high demand to find out more clearly demonstrates a realisation of how important it is to ensure that we get it right this time,” said Mr Parrott.

“Such a complex document warranted a need for further information and it is key that all the options available to us are fully understood and what impact islanders can have on these decisions by giving their feedback.”

Released back in June, the consultation period runs until 27 August and Mr Parrott believes that it is imperative for everyone in Guernsey to better understand the technical issues and the business implications, both locally and internationally discussed in this document and share their views with the States of Guernsey if they wish.
