Martel Maides Guernsey appoints new directors
Estate agents and auctioneers Martel Maides is gearing up for 2010 by appointing two new directors to roles across its business.
Caroline Nickolls is now an associate director in residential sales, whilst James Bridges has been made a director at the company’s auction room.
Ms Nickolls has been with the agency for five years and has extensive experience of the local sales and rentals markets. Her new role means taking more responsibility in the running of the company, and Ms Nickolls is excited by the opportunities for development it offers.
“Working alongside the existing directors will be a fantastic learning experience for me. I’m keen to pick up all I can and benefit from their accumulated knowledge of the agency and of the local property market.
“I hope I can bring something new and fresh to the team as well, and will be putting forward some ideas early on. I can’t wait to get going in this new role.”
Mr Bridges has also been associated with the company for some time having worked as a consultant to the auction rooms. He has now been appointed director of Martel Maides Auctions Ltd and will be playing a full time role in that part of the business.
Mr Bridges has fifteen years of experience in the auction trade and has worked for some of the major names including Bonhams and Sotheby’s. His particular area of speciality is antique and collectible toys and he will now be responsible for all formal valuations at Martel Maides.
“Joining the team full time will set me new challenges. One of my key roles will be to expand our auction activities into Jersey, and I'm looking forward to building relationships with clients in Guernsey and Jersey with a view to holding sales in both islands, ensuring we have the best selection possible for both local and international buyers,” said Mr Bridges.
Nick Renny, a director at Martel Maides, said that the two promotions would give the company a boost in 2010.
“Giving experienced staff more responsibility and the opportunity to improve the way we do business is a key part of our strategy. I’m sure Caroline and James will have a big impact in their new roles, and ensure that we have another successful year.”
