Larry Granger has been appointed the Director of the Confederation of Guernsey Industry.

Originally from Lincoln Larry spent his formative years in the Midlands. He served a Student Apprenticeship with the Plessey Company, qualifying as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer. There followed a three year period with the National Coal Board specialising in underground radio communication. Over the next few years his career involved Production Engineering and Works Management before returning to Plessey where he became interested in Quality Systems and Quality Management.

Following acceptance to the Institute of Quality Assurance, he published a number of papers on the subject, lectured at various universities and became an Accredited Lead Assessor of Management Systems to BS5750 and then ISO9000:2000. Larry came to Guernsey in 1987 to work for Dynatech Datacoms and then Eurotherm (Guernsey) Ltd. Following the successful MBO in 1990, Larry and his co-directors established Offshore Electronics Ltd. Since then he has enjoyed the position of Quality Director of the successful Guernsey owned company.

The new CGi brand image has been announced to take the organisation into 2009. Produced by Two Degrees North, the vibrant design links the logo with a readout, reminiscent of the monitor recording a beating heart. This places the CGi at the heart of Guernsey Industry or being on the pulse of what is happening in local businesses.
