PricewaterhouseCoopers announce senior appointments to Channel Islands team

PricewaterhouseCoopers has strengthened its senior leadership team in the Channel Islands by admitting Karl Hairon as a Partner in its Jersey office and making Roland Mills a Director in Guernsey.

Over a number of years working across an international client base, Karl has developed particular expertise in helping global organisations to meet the challenges of working across international boundaries and cultures. In his new role as a Partner, he will build on the work he does in the alternative investment fund sector and in leading on non-audit assurance services such as advising on control frameworks for financial services businesses.

Educated in Jersey, Karl gained a degree from the University of Plymouth in 1992. Having joined Coopers & Lybrand in Jersey as a trainee accountant in 1995, he undertook a three year secondment to PwC’s Sydney office where he worked in the banking and asset management group. He is married to Jane and has two children. Outside of work, he is a keen skier and sailor.

Working within the Assurance business in Guernsey, Roland specialises in asset management and particularly the alternative investment sector, an area he will continue to focus on in his new role. As well as being responsible for the audit of a range of financial services clients, Roland has experience in other areas including advising on listings and other non-audit services.

Roland joined PwC South Africa as a trainee accountant in 1999 and after qualifying, brought his experience in financial services to Guernsey in 2001. Having grown up in South Africa, Roland went on to study at the University of Witwaterstand in Johannesburg and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Roland is married to Nicky and has two children, whilst outside of work, Roland enjoys most sports, particularly golf and hockey.
