Canada Day
Staff at RBC Wealth Management celebrate Canada Day with a lunchtime BBQ in the sunshine.

Over 300 members of staff were invited to eat al fresco in the company’s main courtyard on Wednesday 1st July and celebrate their company’s cultural roots.

Ron Nutter, VP & Global Head of Corporate & Institutional at RBC Wealth Management, enjoys the celebrations.

‘It’s an honour to be able to celebrate my own family roots on Canada Day with colleagues in Guernsey,’ he said. ‘Each year we come together with staff across our network to mark Canada’s national day. It’s a great opportunity to recognise our heritage and to thank everyone for all their hard work.’

Frequently referred to as Canada's birthday, Canada Day marks the uniting of former British colonies in the region to create the country of Canada on July 1, 1867. Although Canada is regarded as having become a territory in its own right on that date, the British Parliament retained limited political control over the country. This was gradually reduced over the years until the last colonial privileges expired in 1982, when the Constitution Act ratified the Canadian constitution.
