Gary Rouget has been promoted to the position of managing director of Rabeys Group Limited; taking over the role from Roger Le Huray, who has been appointed chairman of the group.

‘I am delighted to have been given the opportunity, Rabeys is well established as the largest business serving the commercial vehicle sector in the Channel Islands. It’s an exciting time for Rabeys and for me personally and I am looking forward to working with the excellent team we have in place to continue the company’s growth. It’s also a huge asset that someone with as much experience as Roger will still be involved,’ said Mr Rouget.

Mr Rouget, who has an MBA from Southampton University and is a member of Chartered Management Institute and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, has worked in the motor trade for nearly 30 years including 23 years involvement with the Volkswagen and Audi brands.

Since joining the company, he has been directly involved with its activities across the Channel Islands and has divided his time between Guernsey and Jersey. In his new role as managing director he will assume responsibility for the day to day running of the group and be assisted by finance director John Falla.

Rabeys Group Ltd is the agent for Renault, DAF, and Isuzu trucks, as well as FIAT Professional vans, John Deere tractors, HIAB cranes and Linde material handling equipment. The group sells and rents commercial vehicles, as well as offering a comprehensive after sales service including servicing, tyres, parts and accessories.

‘I have enjoyed immensely developing the business both in Guernsey and Jersey but I firmly believe the time is now right to hand over the reins to a younger team. Since joining the Group, Gary has become an important member of the senior management team and his energy, experience and knowledge have proved invaluable. I have no doubt that Rabeys is in very safe hands,’ said Mr Le Huray.
