Skipton Swimarathon getting close

It is now just two weeks before the start of this year’s Skipton Swimarathon.

The event is going to be held at Beau Sejour from 3 October to 7 October and is open to teams of between 4 or more people. Choose a captain and start collecting sponsorship! Anyone can be in a team: schools, family, friends, work and clubs. Places are filling up fast, especially on the Sunday which is already three quarters full!
This year’s event will be raising funds for the Guernsey Cardiac Action Group to enable them to buy and provide training for twelve public access defibrillators which will be placed at strategic locations throughout the community. These units are designed specifically to treat Sudden Cardiac Arrest, a condition when the heart stops beating unexpectedly.

This is the 36th year during which over 50,000 swimmers of all ages and abilities have raised more than £1,000,000 for local needs.
