Sure’s High Speed Mobile Broadband is getting faster and will soon be the fastest available in Guernsey.

Sure is upgrading its 3G mobile network in Guernsey to download speeds of up to 7.2 Megabits per second (Mbps) from its current 3.6Mbps and is on the verge of launching the island’s fastest network with speeds of 10.2Mbps expected in the next couple of months and testing for speeds of 14.4Mbps already underway.

Paul Taylor, Marketing Director for Sure, said:
“We’ve seen a really strong uptake in High Speed Mobile Broadband since launching our 3G network in Guernsey before Christmas. High Speed Mobile Broadband offers islanders super-fast mobile internet access, which is really useful for those wanting to download large files quickly on their 3G phone, netbook or laptop. We’ve doubled speeds without charging more, are the only network to offer unlimited usage and we’ve ensured that islanders will get a reliable island-wide service through Sure’s mobile network.”

High Speed Mobile Broadband (HSMB) makes the internet available to islanders wherever they can get a mobile signal. It is increasingly popular with people who want to work remotely, want to use their laptop anywhere, or who use a lot of data on their handsets and want faster download speeds. They use it to stay in touch through Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites as well as generally browsing the net.

Sure offers a range of High Speed Mobile Broadband products, including a mobile broadband dongle for use with laptops, a netbook with in-built HSMB and a handset booster.
