VisitGuernsey to exhibit at the Southampton Boat Show
Thursday 13 September 2012
This week sees the opening of one of Britain’s best loved and most prestigious boat shows, a real celebration of British ‘on water’ prowess.
Once again VisitGuernsey representatives will be travelling to Southampton to exhibit at this major event, to promote Guernsey and its sister islands as the perfect holiday destination. The stand is in partnership with Jersey Harbours, Guernsey Harbours and La Manche with Alderney Harbours also being represented.
Tony Dawson, Consumer Marketing Manager for Commerce and Employment says
‘From a general tourism perspective this is a superb platform to promote Guernsey as a holiday destination to those prospective visitors with or without a boat. Exhibiting at this event ensures we are reaching out to our core target audience.’
The 8x4 metre stand is situated in a prime location between the main entrance and Mayflower Park area which ensures that all visitors pass by our stand. Representatives on the stand, number BO52,will be promoting the Channel Island Harbours through distribution of ‘The Channel Islands Yachtsmen’s Guide ‘ a dedicated and niche printed booklet along with other more generic tourism literature.
Mr Dawson continued ‘ By the Channel Islands forming a partnership with La Manche representatives who are attending from several of the marinas located on the Northern French coastline, adjacent to the Channel Islands, offers a very attractive cruising itinerary for any visiting yachtsmen who visit our waters. The event is an ideal opportunity to gain feedback from those who have visited during the 2012 season and also to introduce the destination for those planning their 2013 cruises.’
