Policy Council

Created to provide some cohesion among decision-making from the senior politicians, the Policy Council came together following the 2004 Machinery of Government changes.

Involves the Chief Minister and the Ministers of the 10 Departments, it has responsibility for constitutional affairs, including representing the island internationally, handling international agreements, hosting visitors and Overseas Aid policy.

It also in particular takes the responsibility for strategic and corporate policy, including formulating economic, fiscal, human resource, environmental and social policies to meet agreed States objectives.
