New online directory launched
A unique local online directory is being launched in the Isle of Man. MiQuando.com will provide businesses with free listings and an online diary, which customers can use to search for services and make online bookings. Once established here, the website will be rolled out across the United Kingdom.
MiQuando.com also offers a range of built-in marketing tools, the ability to integrate any existing websites and the option of innovative low-cost advertising. It is being aimed at both small and established businesses, which are looking to expand and develop their customer-base.
The website is the brainchild of joint managing directors Nigel Jones and Paul Harris who between them have over 40 years’ experience working in the IT industry of which nearly twenty years have been spent running and owning their own businesses.
Nigel said: ‘We both have professional technology backgrounds and devised the concept of MiQuando because there was no other company like it anywhere in the world. The name loosely translates as “me or I” and “when”; our name basically reflects our mission to make businesses more visible while helping them manage their time more effectively.
‘We know that businesses will find real value in signing up, especially as a full directory listing with email and web address details included is absolutely free. The other features, such as an online booking system, are also available for a fraction of the cost of other similar tools. Plus, we’ll do all we can to help set businesses up and show them how simple it is to use.’
MiQuando is hosting a series of three ‘taster’ sessions on 9 July at the Claremont Hotel in Douglas, between 12.15-1pm, 3.15-4pm and 5.15-6pm. Those attending will be given a demonstration and information pack so they can see how it works and what it can do for them. And those who sign-up on the day could be in with a chance of winning an iPad or three month’s free advertising on the site.
Paul said: ‘We would urge local businesses, from beauty salons to car valets, physiotherapists to mechanics to come and speak to us about how MiQuando can help them and their clients.’
Anyone wishing to attend the event should call 0845 564 0000 or email mail@miquando.com
Nigel and Paul will be joined by Amanda Butler who has been working with them since 2008 and will provide support to MiQuando. The company has also taken on three new recruits – Katie Brammall, Jonathon Mullen and Kelly Walker – who will provide expert guidance and advice about the website and all of its features.
